EcoMovement is an independently owned business based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Two friends with a shared vision, Rian Bedard and Marcel Miranda founded EcoMovement in 2009.
EcoMovement is quickly growing to serve businesses, schools and neighborhoods across the greater Seacoast region.
EcoMovement knows Zero Waste. We practice it ourselves.
Zero Waste is more than our service. It’s our vision for our entire community. And we know that, as with all change, it starts at home.
We hold every aspect of our business up to the same standards we hold up for you. That’s how we’ll all help each other reach closer and closer to our goal of achieving Zero Waste.
We’re also proud members of several wonderful organizations:
EcoMovement donates 1% of our sales to a local environmental group through 1% for the Planet. This gives new meaning to the adage “buy more and save.”
Businesses are leading the way in sustainability. The Green Alliance is bringing them together—and bringing them to you, with discounts and other benefits for businesses and individuals, alike.
Seacoast Local, Inc., began as a grassroots initiative among several Seacoast residents. It’s grown to become a non-profit network of local, independent businesses, individuals and non-profits who share a vision of a local, living economy built on sustainable practices.
By purchasing CO2 offsets for any emissions we create, EcoMovement partners with TerraPass to be a carbon-balanced business.
Tourism is New Hampshire’s second largest industry, and the New Hampshire Sustainable Lodging & Restaurant Program (NHSLRP) helps lodging and restaurant facilities to protect the place that both we and our guests love. EcoMovement is a proud Allied Partner in support of the program’s work.
We use a wind-powered web hosting company. Did you know an average server puts out the same amount of CO2 emissions as a typical SUV in one year? Not ours. It’s 100% clean, powered by wind alone.

Methane is over 20 times more dangerous a greenhouse gas than CO2, and it's produced when valuable organic materials are buried in a landfill. Composting keeps those organic materials in production, and helps keep the menace of methane at bay.
Our Zero Waste programs shrink trash production so much that most clients won't even need a dumpster anymore. The little bit you may produce that can't be composted or recycled goes to a clean incinerator with rigorous emissions standards, reducing dependence on landfills, too.
